The Public Officials Award is presented to an elected or appointed public official that has made a documented, significant contribution in the areas of clean water legislation, public policy, government service, or another area of public prominence that resulted in improvements to the water environment. The award can be presented for public service at the local, state, provincial or national level.

Criteria:

i. Nominees must be an elected or appointed office, and do not need to be a member of WEF. 
ii. Significant contribution that resulted in improvements to the water environment. 

Submit:

  •  Nomination letter
  •  One-page biography of the nominee
  •  Listing of specific reasons for the nomination (two pages maximum) that relates to his/her work in improving the water environment, and any other supporting material that relates to the award criteria. 

Nominations Deadline:

A final copy of your nomination must be received by April 1.
